BILLING COORDINATOR

POSITION PURPOSE:
Provide courteous assistance to patients and referring physician offices while guiding each through the scheduling/check in process.

JOB DUTIES:
1. Answers incoming patient calls regarding billing questions
2. Collect all information required to create a claim; verify accuracy of coding
3. Work directly with insurance company, healthcare provider and patient to get a claim processed and pain
4. Review and appeal unpaid and denied claims
5. Manage Accounts Receivable reports

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Prior physician billing experience preferred
2. Basic EMR and Billing software experience preferred

MEDICAL ASSISTANT

POSITION PURPOSE:
Works beside physician or mid-level to assist in all aspects of patient care.

JOB DUTIES:
1. Assists in all aspects of patient care. Prepares chart, takes medical history, prepares patients for examination and assists physician or mid-level throughout exam.
2. Takes and triages telephone messages from patients and front office staff. Returns all phone calls within 24 hours.
3. Assists in casting and administering Durable Medical Equipment as directed by the physician or mid-level provider
4. Pulls injections as directed by the physician or mid-level provider
5. Keeps patient exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, instruments and ensures proper sterilization techniques
6. Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Completion of medical assistant program from an accredited institution.

NURSE PRACTITIONER/PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT

POSITION PURPOSE:
Assesses patient health by interviewing patients; performing physical examinations; obtaining, updating, and studying medical histories. Determines abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests and interpreting test results.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced, high productivity environment
2. Possesses knowledge of advanced practice nursing including anatomy and physiology, pharmacology and therapeutics.
3. Possesses knowledge of medical equipment and instruments used to administer patient care

JOB DUTIES:
1. Assess patient clinically by obtaining health history through patient consultation and chart review; assesses presenting injury/problem area and performs appropriate physical examination
2. Orders appropriate diagnostic screening tests. Seeks other information as needed including consultation with physicians and other clinicians for evaluation. Integrates data to determine diagnosis and therapeutic plan, including identification of any health risks.
3. Develops and implements treatment plan by prescribing/dispensing medications and/or injections in compliance with medical practice guidelines and state laws. Educate patient regarding treatment plan.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST (HAND)/CHT

POSITION PURPOSE:
Provide professional orthopaedic occupational therapy care for clinic patients. Perform clinical tasks and patient care to include; evaluations, therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, appropriate modalities, splint fabrication, and applicable documentation related to these services. Therapist must be able to evaluate, formulate a plan of care, establish goals, and perform any treatment procedures required to meet treatment goals.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Minimum of two years of experience in a physician office or orthopaedic setting (new graduates must demonstrate superior ability to perform through a clinical affiliation or by other comparable means)
2. Ability to manage multiple patients and administer appropriate modalities
3. Extensive knowledge in exercise physiology, biomechanics, and exercise prescription
4. Working knowledge of billing issues, CPT codes, L codes, and basic knowledge of Insurance related issues

PHYSICAL THERAPY TECHNICIAN

POSITION PURPOSE:
Assist therapists in providing professional orthopaedic physical therapy care for clinic patients. Perform clinical tasks and patient care including modalities and following exercise programs with patients. Assist front desk staff in performing administrative duties including: answering the phone, scheduling patients, filing charts and paperwork, and various data entry tasks as needed. Assist with general maintenance and cleaning of the PT facility with the directives of your immediate supervisor.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Ability to manage multiple tasks
2. Basic knowledge in exercise physiology, biomechanics, and exercise techniques (ideal for candidate to be working towards admission into an allied health field)
3. Working knowledge of basic anatomy
4. Successful completion of PT tech training program
5. Comfortable using MS Office programs including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and computer based exercise programs
6. Ability to work with Practice Management software with sufficient training as required

PRECERTIFICATION SPECIALIST

POSITION PURPOSE:
The Pre-Certification Specialist monitors appropriateness and medical necessity, and provides necessary information for authorization and continued visits. This person will confirm pre-certifications that have been obtained or will obtain pre-certifications if needed.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Detail orientated
2. Self-motivated and ability to work effectively in an independent environment.
3. Strong communication and organizational skills.
4. Working knowledge of medical billing and managed care.
5. Ability to work in a fast paced environment.

JOB DUTIES:
1. Reviewing information for continued visits management including type and duration of service, authorization and treatment codes, re-authorization and continued visit requirements necessary for ongoing treatment.
2. Responsible for obtaining and communicating pre-authorization as needed per insurance company requirements.
3. Responsible for tracking, obtaining, and extending authorizations from various carries in a timely manner.
4. Verify receipt of all necessary pre-authorization documents prior to the procedure.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Knowledge of medical terminology.
2. Familiarity with different insurance types.
3. 1 year of pre-certification experience preferred.

RADIOLOGY TECHNOLOGIST

POSITION PURPOSE:
Provides information to help accurately diagnosis patients by operating radiologic equipment to take images as directed by the physician.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Understands imaging equipment and X-Ray procedures
2. Excellent communication skills to interact with patients
3. Ability to work in fast paced, high productivity environment

JOB DUTIES:
1. Explains imaging procedures to patients and answers questions.
2. Positions patients for imaging while closely monitoring them throughout exam to ensure safety
3. Ensures operation of radiology equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions and calling for repairs.
4. Maintains a clean and safe working environment
5. Complies with federal, state and local requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Associates (or greater) degree in Radiology as well as successful completion of board exam for state licensure.
